The UAE in general and in particular Ras Al Khaimah is well known for its folk music, folk dance and other traditions that remember and reflect their social and ethical values of their community.  Traditional dance is great example of displaying meaningful moments, played rhythmically to demonstrate the common ideas and likes of a certain family or community.

Al Wahabiyya is one of the oldest art forms of Ral Al Khaimah. The song is divided into three sections.  The drummers stand between two rows of performers/singers, they recite one line of the poem and the group repeats until memorized.  Then the second line is delivered and so on until the last line is memorized by all.  The two rows of performers then move rhythmically backwards and forwards, until both groups nearly touch together.  This dance may take up to 15 or 20 minutes to complete and is mesmerizing to watch.  This type of folkdance or performance is usually played at weddings or special ceremonies.
