Dubai  Business Bay Mini Guide

Business Bay has undergone a number of changes, in fact, it has adopted a few new names or extensions to its name.  The real game change came with the addition of the new Dubai Water Canal,  as this new master stroke gave a new impetus to the lagging Business Bay of old.  With a new 12-kilometre promenade Dubai Holdings / Dubai Properties now bring some big-name Developer interest to this poor cousin of Downtown.

The new Marasi Business Bay was introduced by Dubai Properties and its aim was to bring new life with the help of water front retails shops, floating restaurants and the introduction of the regions first purpose built yachting destination that would allow the yachting world to have access to floating cafes, onshore boutique retail outlets and a wide range of entertainment facilitates.

The master plan hopes to be delivered in two main phases taking more than seven years to realize the whole plan.  It will be funded by Dubai Holdings but there would be many new ancillary revenue streams to recoup their vast investment.  This first would come from the sale of a new concept to the region featuring floating water homes.  It is expected that Dubai Properties will build more than 150 of these homes, ranging in sizes from 120 square metres to 140 square metres and will have either two or three bedroom options.  These homes will have water births along the banks of the canal and be very close to the main marina location to allow the openers easy access to most of the canal’s main features.
